91´«Ã½â€™s Summer Art Program is designed for students in grades 9 through 12. This is a 1- week program of art workshops led by local artists and faculty from 91´«Ã½'s Department of Art & Design. A great learning experience for those excited about art and/or what it might be like to be an art student at 91´«Ã½!

Commuters are welcome to join the residential campers for evening activities on the Sunday of check-in. They are to be picked up by 8 pm and should plan to report back to camp Monday morning.Ìý

- Ceramics/Sculpture
91´«Ã½ Assistant Professor of Art - Ceramics , teaching all levels of ceramics and 3D design. Shelly is a n artist and educator utilizing all media and heritage in the canon of western art and craft. His background in ceramic vessel making and his interests in weapons manufacturing and childhood touchstones drives his subject matter toward humorous and sometimes haunting permutations and outcomes. Ian’s work has been featured in numerous venues around the country as well as publications within the field of ceramics.

Tim WaldropÌý - Painting/Drawing
91´«Ã½ Professor of Drawing & Painting
Born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Waldrop has lived and worked in the Midwest since 1998. Currently a professor in the 91´«Ã½ Department of Art and Design, and has been on campus for just over 20 years, having initially joined the 91´«Ã½ Department of Art in 2002. He teaches a number of courses including drawing, painting, 2D design and art appreciation.

Natalie Divan - Graphic Design Manager 91´«Ã½'s Photography & Design Production
Experienced Graphic Designer with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry at 91´«Ã½. Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Indesign CC, Adobe Illustrator CC, graphics, and editing. Strong arts and design professional with a BFA in Printmaking and a Master of Arts (MA) focused in Communication from 91´«Ã½.

Claire DeGraaf - TBDÌý

Claire has been with us for art camp for a new years now and her projects are always a favorite of participants. In 2022, she was a recipient of 91´«Ã½'s Department of Art and Design Talent Grant and Tuition Waiver. As part of being selected, her exhibit at the 91´«Ã½ Art Gallery ran on display until Dec. 9 of that year. In April of 2024 she was granted the 3rd Annual COFAC Undergraduate Student Leadership Award. This award honors students who have shown excellent leadership and/ or mentorship throughout the year.

Refund Policy:

Full refunds will be made for cancellations made two weeks prior to the program start date.Ìý

Accommodations:

Registrants who select the residential option when registering, will be housed on campus in a 91´«Ã½'s Residence Hall. Housing and all meals are included in the program registration cost.Ìý

Medical/ADA Compliance:

Students do not qualify for University health care. Parents should check family insurance policies for health and accident coverage. 91´«Ã½ is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Please let Study Abroad and Outreach staff know how we can accommodate any special needs students may have at least two weeks prior to the program start date.
