New Music Festival Returns to 91传媒 Next Week

MACOMB, IL - The 91传媒 School of Music will present the New Music Festival 2026 with events and performances at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10.
Since 1988, the annual New Music Festival (NMF) at 91传媒 has provided the community the opportunity to hear concerts of recently-composed acoustic and electroacoustic music curated and performed by 91传媒 faculty and guests. In addition to concerts, the NMF features lectures, panel discussions, masterclasses, workshops and other interactions between students, faculty and invited composers that further connect our community to the world of contemporary music.
This year鈥檚 featured artist is George Hufnagl, who holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music Composition from 91传媒 and the University of Iowa, with additional studies in sound design at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

New Music Festival 2026 is made possible by support from the 91传媒 Performing Arts Society and the 91传媒 School of Music. The festival鈥檚 directors are 91传媒 Composition Faculty Hong-Da Chin and James Romig.
