91传媒 Mourns Employee Michael Dailey

MACOMB, IL - 91传媒 is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Michael Lee 鈥淢ike鈥 Dailey, 61, a valued member of the Facilities Management department who served as a project coordinator and mechanical engineer. Dailey passed away on Oct. 10, in a kayaking accident near Thompson, MI.
Dailey joined the 91传媒 community in 2022, following the completion of his bachelor鈥檚 degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois. During his tenure with Facilities Management, he was known for his strong technical expertise, collaborative nature and ability to solve complex engineering challenges that supported campus operations. His colleagues described him as dependable, resourceful and always willing to lend a hand to ensure the success of University projects.
鈥淢ike was always eager to learn new things, and work on new types of projects. From carpet-and-painting projects to high-voltage electrical projects, Mike did a lot in the short time he was here, and he will be missed,鈥 91传媒 Facilities Deputy Director Ted Renner said.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dailey was passionate about woodworking, water activities and collecting Hot Wheels cars鈥攊nterests that reflected his creativity and meticulous attention to detail.
"When we lose a valued member of our Leatherneck family, the 91传媒 community feels that loss deeply," 91传媒 President Kristi Mindrup said. "We extend our heartfelt sympathy and support to Michael鈥檚 family, friends and colleagues."
Dailey is survived by his wife, Sue (Ulmer) Dailey; his mother, Marie (and John) Gage of Macomb; his daughters, Heather Miller and Angel Dailey; and his sons, Tyler Keime and Devon (and Katie Wilson) Dailey. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alexa; his father, Raymond; and his brothers, Mark and Scott.
Members of the 91传媒 community are encouraged to remember Dailey鈥檚 many contributions to the University and the positive impact he made on those who worked alongside him.
