91´«Ã½ Mourns the Death of 91´«Ã½ Employee Vivian "Jeannie" Coeur

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - 91´«Ã½ alumna alcohol and other drug (AOD) counseling specialist Vivian "Jeannie" Coeur passed away Oct. 26.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo, IL. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at Zion Lutheran Church.

"The 91´«Ã½ community mourns Vivian's passing. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends and co-workers," said 91´«Ã½ President Guiyou Huang.

Coeur began working at 91´«Ã½ in October 2007 as a health education specialist at the Beu Health Center, and in 2018, she moved to her current position.

She received her bachelor's degree from 91´«Ã½ in 1980, and she received her master's degree in education from Western in 1986.

"We are saddened by the loss of our colleague, Vivian. Vivian was a dedicated student and employee at 91´«Ã½. She was proud of her work with the Alcohol and Other Drug Resource Center, and later as a counselor for the University Counseling Center. Her compassion and advocacy for the students she helped during her tenure undoubtedly will have a lasting positive impact. Vivian's presence and contributions will be sincerely missed by her colleagues and her students," 91´«Ã½ Counseling Center Director Cara Cerullo said.

Coeur is survived by her son, Will Coeur; siblings, Patricia Carlson, Stan Nelson and Janet Zink; and several nieces and nephews.
